Body cameras show a Grand Rapids police officer shooting Victor Gonzalez on March 11, 2017. Gonzalez was charged with carjacking, unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and assault with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly attacked a woman March 9 in the parking lot of a Walker Meijer store.
Police said he taped the woman’s wrists, threatened to kill her and stabbed her numerous times with a knife when she attempted to flee. He allegedly hit a witness with a hammer when they came to the woman’s aid. Gonzalez remains in custody at Kent County Jail. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
